1958 Karmann Ghia Cabriolet Chassis

Here's what the original chassis looked like, as delivered:

The heater control "faucet" had this damage that occurred somewhere along the way. It was properly repaired which took some doing indeed!

The most serious problems were inside the tunnel! The clutch tube was broken free and some of the other tubes clogged. Rather than hack the outside of the tunnel for access, the right call was to remove the bottom.

The new panels were fitted from the top first, then welled from the bottom.

After the above photo, the whole thing was wire-brushed clean, then painted. Here's the result:

Here is the chassis, ready to go! Only the wheels need refinishing!
